Other Information & Preferences
Family |
I am the oldest of three children in my family. My younger sister in is the fourth grade, and I am helping to coach her 3rd/4th grade volleyball team. I love to pepper with her and my brother in the driveway, and am helping my sister to master her overhand serve. I come from a very tall family of athletes, as my dad is 6′ 7″, and my 14 year old brother is 6′ 4″. My dad played college basketball, and I have many relatives who also competed at the collegiate level in other sports. |
Personal Statement |
Volleyball is by far my passion. I enjoy every single moment I spend on the court, whether it be at practice, on the court, or on the sidelines. I am a very serious player, who is highly competitive. Every time I step on the court, I strive to succeed and compete. I’m always smiling, and I love to bring an upbeat, energetic, positive element to the court. Although I’m known as a rather “cheerful” player, I also consider myself a highly dedicated athlete, always aiming to improve my skills and overall athleticism in any way I can. I train with a personal trainer twice a week, working on speed, agility, and core strength. In addition, I also do a lot of extra on on one work, aiming to improve my skills in any way I can. My goal is to become the best player I can be. This year, in addition to playing outside – I’ve also played a considerable amount of time playing opposite, and I’ve become particularly adept at blocking the opposing outside hitters. I currently lead my team in blocks and blocking percentage. I know I have what it takes to be a successful Divison 1 athlete. I pride myself on my work ethic both on and off the court, and I feel I have what it takes to compete at highly competitive program. |
Goals & Major |
I am considering majoring in English with thoughts of attending Law or Business school after my undergraduate studies. I also love working with people and helping them, that combined with my size and strength, have me thinking about the physical therapy field as well. |
